Al-Hajji: Kuwaiti Joint Committee for Relief Aid is maintaining
its humanitarian aid program in Darfur

 

 

Mr. Al-Hajji, the chairman of Kuwaiti Joint Committee for Relief Aid called upon all charitable organizations in Kuwait to intensify their relief efforts, co-operate together, and coordinate with each other in order to be able to respond efficiently to the increasing urgent needs of the victims in Darfur region in west of Sudan.

 

He further added it is our duty to help those who were displaced from their land as a result of the civil war in Darfur to help improve their catastrophic conditions.
 

Mr. Al-Hajji advised those organizations to work together to deliver their humanitarian assistance in systematic and organized manners to insure their quick response to disaster there.
 

Mr. Al-Hajji said that the Kuwaiti Joint Committee for Relief Aid with cooperation with IICO office in Sudan is continuing their relief missions in Darfur region. Recently, the General Director of Kuwaiti Joint Committee for Relief Aid, Faisal Al-Jeran as well as the Director for Relief Aid, Badr Al-Shamroukh, visited Darfur region and supervised the deliverance and distribution of a new shipment of humantrian aids: food, water, clothes, and medicine for the affected people.
 

Badr Al-Shamroukh pointed that this was the third humantrian aids shipment of the relief committee to the region.


It is worth to mention the committee deputy met with the Sudanese officials to know latest development in the region and the needs of the afflicted people there

Asian Committee calls upon the Generous Donors to support
"School Bag Project"

  

At the beginning of the new study year, and under the slogan "Let them Learn", the Asian Committee urges Charitable Donors to donate generously for the "School Page Project".

The project is implemented in several Asian countries. The Committee always distributes school bags as well as necessary stationeries for the new school year among those needy children every year.
The project helps thousands of orphans sponsored by the Committee as well as other needy children whose families can not afford to buy for them their needs to start the new year.

The project supplies every student with school uniform, a bag, and the stationeries. The total cost is only five dinars or one may donate the bag and the necessary stationeries.

Thousands of needy students at all stages of education benefit from the project. It is worth to mention that there are thousands of needy Muslim students in Asia who are eager to learn and but can not continue their education because of poverty. The

Committee called upon the donors to give generously to the ease the effects of the hard living conditions of poor Muslims in Asia.

Muslim World League Finalizes the project of the
"High Co-ordination Board"

  

Mr. Al-Turki the Chairman of Muslim World League announced that the League is about to finalize the project of the High Co-ordination Board which aims for sustaining cooperation and co-ordination between Islamic Organizations. He said that it is a global project to bring Islamic Organizations to work together for the defense of the interests of the Muslim Ummah.

30 major Islamic organizations will get together to put the final touches to the project. Mr. Al-Turki pointed that founding an organization for the coordination between Islamic Organizations has become a necessity because the Islamic world is facing many challenges. The Islamic beliefs and culture are under attacks. The enemies of the Ummah are working together in order to reconstruct our beliefs and culture in such a way to suit their interests.
After 9/11 the anti Muslims forces such as the International Zionisim organizations took this occasion as an excuse to attack Muslims and Islam at all levels. The present situation and circumstances make it a must on Muslims to unite, cooperate, and coordinate their efforts to face these challenges.

He mentioned that this project is aiming for:


1. putting a scientific practical program to help Islamic organizations,
centers, associations work together.
2. coordinating between these organizations in fields of common interest.
3. and implementing joint projects.


The new project help Muslims work together to remove misunderstanding amongst Muslims and find ground to solve thier cultural and social problems.

IICO became more involved in charitable activities in Uzbekistan

  

The director of IICO office in Uzbekistan, Abdul Hakim Qari Min-Qalauf, affirmed that IICO is actively working in charitable projects in Uzbekistan and all over the world. He added that IICO is particularly interested in educational projects and establishing Masjids.

He said in the last few years IICO became more involved in charitable activities in Uzbekistan. IICO coordinated with Uzbekistani Muslims Sectors to implement many future charitable projects.
IICO dug 5 water wells in Samarqand and surrounded areas; it also offers financial aids to orphans and needy families as well as scholarship for the distinguished students.

It also supports Islamic schools and educational institutes, distributes copies of the Holy Quran, and books.

IICO invites Generous Donors to participate in Breaking the Fast Project

  

This is a reminder to the people of Kuwait who are long known of their generosity and charitable work even at the time of limited resources. This is an invitation for the people of Kuwait who are long known of their generosity and charitable work even at the time of limited resources, to participate in offering Iftar meals in the Masjids as well as to the needy families.


According to Islamic teachings, one of the best deeds in the sight of God is feeding the hungry. In more than 45 places around the world, IICO offers meals for breaking the fast during the month of Ramadan.


IICO is ready to accept donations and contributions before the beginning of the Holy Month and may Allah reward you. The cost is as follows:

 
1) It is only $1.5 per a meal
2) Pay as little as $45 you to supply a needy person
with thirty meals to break his fast through out the
month of Ramadan
3) Pay $3.5 to supply a family with enough food staff
to prepare a meal.
4) For as little as $100 you can supply a needy family
with enough food to break the fast for the entire
holy month.

IICO participated in re Relief Aid
to the victims of floods in Bangladesh

  

Kuwaiti Joint Committee for Relief Aid called upon the generous donors to relief the victims of floods in Bangladesh.

The committee announced that it intensified its aids to Bangladeshi people who were afflicted by the worst floods in years.  

Water immersed 140 provinces and led to the displacement of millions of people. The floods caused extensive damage to infrastructure of the country.

Crops were destroyed; thousands of cattle died; roads were closed; bridges were destroyed; about 2000 Masjids and schools were demolished.

The chairman of the committee appealed to the honorable donors to  continue their charities  to the needy in Bangladesh and participate in other projects sponsored by IICO.

500 families benefited from "Supply the Food" project

  

Dr. Fareed Al-Awady Vice Director of IICO announced that IICO has distributed parcels of food on needy families in Kuwait with coordination with the Puplic Trust of Al-Awqaf.

The parcel contains food supply enough to cover the needs of a family for one month. Every parcel supplies the family of basic needs of rice, beans, flour, oil, tomato past,… etc. The amounts are determined according to the size of the family.

Dr Al-Awady pointed that IICO prepared cards for needy families and signed contracts with coop-societies so that they can supply them with their monthly parcels.

He mentioned that so far 500 families have benefited from this project. More families are expected to benefit from the project in the future.

Zakat House distributed aided 3909 needy families in Kuwait
during July 2004  

  

Zakat House stressed that it is one of its objectives to assist needy families in Kuwait.

Dr. Khalid Al-Shatti, Director of Social services devision in Zakat House, announced that they have distributed 1193648  k.d on  3909 needy families in Kuwait during July 2004.

He mentioned also that they gave 292600 K.D. non-interest loans to 109 families.
He further urged Muslims and generous donors to give their Zakat and Sadaqah to the Zakat House through its many available channels in Kuwait.
